Railway
Recruitment Control Board(RRCB) is
a government organization. It was set up in 1998 in the Ministry
of Railway in New Delhi. The objective of RRCB is to inspect the activity of
Railway Recruitment Boards(RRBs).

Recruitment Boards(RRBs):- Railway Recruitment Boards are
established for the recruitment processes to the various Posts in the Indian
Railway. There are 21 RRBs working now in different city of India.

Recruitment
Process in Railways:-
There are many different Posts in
Indian Railway filled through competitive Examination. Broadly these are
divided in four Category.
1. Group A
2. Group B
3. Group C
4. Group D
Group A and group B are gazetted posts under Officer cadre. Selection to the post in Group A is made through Civil Services Examination/ Engineering Services Examination/ Combined Medical Examination conducted by Union Public Services Commission (UPSC). Group B posts are not filled by direct recruitment. Group B officers are directly promoted from the group C posts. Recruitment to the group C and D posts is made by RRBs.
